The Corner First Quality Good news? I've taken a new plunge and submitted a few poems to some poetry magazines. You can check the publications out, if you'd like: Poesy is by a local Santa Cruz editor/publisher who also focuses on Boston poets, where he grew up. Porter Gulch Review is the annual literary magazine of Cabrillo College, a local community college. Bad news? I think the "work" in this edition isn't quite as good as the triplicate copies sent out the door in 9"x12" envelopes with color-coded floppy disks enclosed. But hey, even if I promised fresh from the oven, I never said it wouldn't be Seconds: No telling what will come of it all, in the end. I imagine this comment coming back in a handwritten note, on "From The Desk Of" stationery, someday: "Rejection is tough," I remind myself, "Get used to it...." |
