The Corner Janus If a Roman god can look both forward and back, then I thought I might give it a try.... In the midst of the Comma Sutra poetry reading last Friday in SF, I was trying to remember "Smoke" by heart, a poem I'd written awhile ago. It stuck with me so much over the last few days, that I thought I might use it as a basis of something new, more fitting for Santa Cruz climes. Then, as I finished, I realized I had the opening stanzas of an elemental quartet....and, so: Old seeds and styes can open ones eyes to a new way of looking around.... Happy New Year. |
